Is Islam Beautiful? – I Challenge You to Take a Look | The Muslim Blog

Is Islam beautiful? Some people will argue that it is not beautiful in any way whatsoever. There are plenty of misconceptions and stereotypes about Islam that twist its image. Chances are, you might subconsciously have an incorrect or non-factual view of Islam in some way. Terrorists who misinterpret the Qur'an, the media, debaters who insist that Islam does not treat women fairly, the list goes on and on and on. But I would argue that the hidden truth about Islam is beautiful.

Just read on, and you will go to beautiful places. Try it.

Let’s teleport to a mosque. You feel your head touch the ground in prostration to your Lord. Your life has meaning. You know why you’re here and what is going to happen after you die. After prayer, in the mosque lit up by golden rays of sun, you pick up a Qur’an copy and read it, feeling the words speak to you.  Islam is serenity and inner peace.

In Life of Pi, author Yann Martel, attempts to describe the beauty of listening to Qur'an:

"The guttural eruptions and long flowing vowels rolled just beneath my comprehension like a beautiful brook. I gazed into this brook for long spells of time. It was not wide, just one man's voice, but it was as deep as the universe."(Martel 62)

All the mercy and beauty of the world is as a direct result of Him, and even though to us humans it may seem that He has caused suffering as well, but We don’t know what He knows, for there is a reason behind everything, and something that seems horrible to us may have a beautiful reason behind it.

Islam, or submission to God. It is like a moving home, that comes with you wherever you go. In the darkest of nights and when you feel most lost, it is that star which remains to shine bright, a beacon in the darkness, a secret hope.
