Can You Judge a Muslim by What They Wear, Say and Do Outwardly? | The Muslim Blog

Some people will look at you: what you wear, what you eat, how you talk, and will immediately make a judgment about you as a person. But what they don’t know is that the true you is something they can’t see. They are blind to the thing that defines you, that will decide whether your life will be filled with obedience to your Creator or if you will disobey Him constantly. But what is it? Find out below.

Ok, so even though everyday things are important, they are kind of like a cart being pulled by something else. If that something else moves forward fast, they follow. If it stops, they stop. If it goes backward, everyday practices will also go backward, and fall into things Allah has forbidden. But what is this something else? Frankly, it is the heart. The center. Questions to test your center might be:

·             How strong is your belief in your Creator?
·             How devoted are you to Him?
·             Are you truly prepared to give this life up for the next one?

If a person’s heart is pure, then very likely, their everyday practices will sort themselves out and they will find themselves avoiding forbidden things, for their fear of the Almighty. Thus, when we look at what someone is doing outwardly, to a big extent that is irrelevant, because what is in the heart is what matters – and we can’t tell what’s in their heart.

This is an important thing to remember to see in others and in ourselves. We need to fix the heart first, because the heart is what’s pulling the cart. If your heart is not ready, how can you expect yourself to fix your everyday life?

Fix your heart by asking your Creator to help you and give you faith, by doing dhikr, by praying more, by giving more and just by being a better Muslim. Trust me, when you get that great feeling inside of you, you’ll be happy you did.
